Sens8: IDEATE @ Philadelphia Tech Week
It is commonly thought that individuals that incorporate technology into their care plans are doing so in order to address a limitation. Ideate of Resources for Human Development invited audience members and panelist alike to reframe this notion to focus on ‘strengths amplified by technology’ that is intended to decrease reliance on paid staff and increase personal autonomy for individuals identifying as disabled. During this event, we unpacked our case studies and experiments invited feedback and celebrated the great strides our clients and collaborators are making. Examples in bespoke as well as generic technology were discussed and demonstrated.
Panelists included: Chuck Horton of Inglis House, Michael Barnes and Chad Bullock from Atlantic Cape Community College and William Lockard from DeafCan!
All of these esteemed panelists have had significant impact on the empowerment of individuals and social changes related to accessibility.
